Dedication CelebrationOctober 6-10, we will celebrate the opening of our two new worship and service centers. These centers will enable us to significantly expand our life-enhancing programs and services. This celebration represents a major milestone in our Capital Campaign, through which we successfully raised $12.5 million. The completion of both facilities delivers on the promise that we made to our contributors and to the community to faithfully use the resources that have been entrusted to us, and to serve OTHERS in God’s name without discrimination. The East Main Worship and Service CenterThe East Main Worship and Service Center, located at 966 East Main Street, is a 27,000-square-foot structure designed by Moody Nolan, Inc., and built by The Daimler Group. In addition to providing a variety of spiritual programs and services for children, teens and adults, this spacious new facility will enable us to triple our program size and further expand three of our very successful programs: our Career Enhancement Center, After School Learning Centers and Material Assistance programs, which includes the Nationwide Foundaton Education Center, the Heart to Heart and Senior Food Distribution programs, and the Kroger Choice Pantry. Of particular note is the Kroger Choice Pantry, a fairly new concept in partnership with the Mid-Ohio Food Bank. This program places an emphasis on giving people a choice. Rather than just give a family a bag of groceries, we will instead enable them to shop for themselves. We will also assist them with budgeting, meal planning and preparation. As this program grows, we will grow with it.
The Chapel at Worthington Woods Worship and Service CenterLocated at 760 Worthington Woods Boulevard, The Chapel at Worthington Woods Worship and Service Center is a 24,500-square-foot facility designed by Robert S. Davis, Ltd., and built by Miles-McClellan Construction and Development. Worthington Woods will offer adult music programs, material assistance programs, after school youth ministries, and a full-sized gymnasium. It will be a God-centered hub of activity, where children and adults can have fun, grow and learn in a safe environment.
